The artist has created, for the Center for American Studies, a collection of 13 pointillist portraits depicting, starting from George Washington, the first twelve presidents in the history of the United States, plus a portrait of Abraham Lincoln.
The idea behind the creation of these works arises from the desire to reproduce the optical effect of a lithograph, or a serial production, while simultaneously restoring craftsmanship to the otherwise imperceptible graphic result. Furthermore, the particular structure of the ink merging on the cardboard reflects an expressive will made not only of voids and fullness, not exclusively binary, but on the contrary allows a gradation in the chiaroscuro, which together with the overall sharp image, blends into a web of indistinguishable spots in detail. Bringing to light an overview of reality, where every moment is collective and not a monad defined by itself.
This multitude of points, spots, segmented shadows, then becomes a tool in the service of the collective as a whole.
